The Suffering Lands Hollywood Talent
Midway's gorefest gets some big-name support
The unflinching march of technology increasingly blurs the lines between movies and games, a phenomenon helped by the crossover between the two media. As further evidence of this, Midway has brought in talent from Hollywood to voice its upcoming horror sequel The Suffering: Ties That Bind.
Heading up the cast is Michael Clarke Duncan. The burly star of Green Mile and Sin City will play the game's lead antagonist, Blackmore. Joining Duncan is Six Feet Under and Blow star Rachel Griffiths, who breathes life into paramilitary researcher Jordan.
The Suffering: Ties That Bind is definitely not for the squeamish.
Midway, no stranger to controversy, thanks to the Mortal Kombat series, describes the game as "a new descent into madness that emphasizes the disturbing terror of its predecessor with all-new twisted creatures and a few familiar faces, melding big action sequences with visceral horror elements". Sounds scary.
If that's the sort of ASBO-deserving behaviour that gets your juices flowing, visit Midway's official site for more information.
The Suffering: Ties That Bind will be out for PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox this September.
