Meteos Prepped for Take Off
Kirby creator's Tetris-'em-up being tractored to the launch pad.
It's been a barren few months for the DS, but with Christmas approaching dual-screen-loving gamers can ready themselves for the next wave of entertainment. One of the hot DS games in the offing is Meteos, the newest game from Kirby creator Masahiro Sakurai.
Best described as a marriage of Tetris and the NASA space shuttle program, Meteos asks you to line up rows and columns of blocks using the stylus and touch-screen that are then launched into space, giving you a chance to build up bigger and bigger combos.
Complicated it may sound, but like the best puzzle games, once you get into the game the mechanics become secondary to the frantic race to avoid the Game Over screen.
In addition to the various singleplayer modes that build on the main theme, Meteos also allows up to four players to duke it out wirelessly using only one cartridge.
Meteos will be out for DS on 23 September.
