EA Signs Rooney for Expanded FIFA
The overly rich man-child adds more to the piggy bank by signing up to be EA's cover athelete. Screens and other details inside too.
When you pick up EA's guaranteed football hit FIFA 06 later this year you'll see Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney's mug staring back at you. The 19-year-old footie whiz kid joins Brazilian striker Ronaldinho as the cover star for the highly anticipated game.
In addition to bringing in the big names, EA has tried to round out FIFA 06 to give players a fuller version of the spot. This latest instalment will include several new features, including a beefed up management mode.
According to EA's Clive Downie, FIFA 06 brings a "total football experience to the fingertips of gamers".
"It will deliver a combination of attacking gameplay, complete player customisation, pure authenticity and an all-new manager mode - we think football fans are going to like what they see."
See if he's right when FIFA 06 is released for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, DS and PSP later this year.
