Rockstar Axes GTA Sex, Keeps Violence
Embattled publisher responds to the fracas surrounding the pseudo-sex with a real patch to stop people from harming themselves. Now eat your peas for goodness sake.
Good news for PC gamers fascinated by the cartoon violence in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas but disgusted by the equally cartoonish displays of sex available only after considerable effort: Rockstar has released a patch to the so-called Hot Coffee mod that locks down the escaped salacious content.
The patch, available from Rockstar's No More Hot Coffee site, shields your copy of the game from any mod molestation, ensuring that kids, who shouldn't be playing the game anyway, won't be harmed by the charged Hot Coffee content should they happen to download it.
The move comes as Rockstar tries to calm the unrest stirred in the US by the mod that ultimately resulted in the game having its Mature rating revoked and replaced with an Adults Only rating.
The PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game are currently being retooled so that the less-severe rating can be reinstated. These new versions will be available later in the year.
