Broken Sword Trilogy Gets a Fourth
Who said adventure gaming is dead?
Pure adventure games may have largely gone the way of the dodo, but that hasn't stopped UK developer Revolution Software from earning acclaim and popular support for its Broken Sword series. And to prove the point, the company has revealed that it is working on a fourth instalment in the 2.5 million-selling franchise.
It's thanks to the vocal support Revolution has received that a fourth game is even coming. Revolution's Charles Cecil admitted that the story was envisioned as a trilogy, but with the support clearly there, a fourth game was given the go-ahead.
The game picks up with luckless hero George Stobbart falling for a beautiful woman who consequently ups and disappears. Once George sets out to find her, he, naturally, stumbles upon a catastrophic plot that threatens the delicate balance of the world.
Unlike its predecessor, Broken Sword 4 is currently set for release only on PC. The game should be out next summer.
