Oasis, Jamiroquai and More in FIFA 06
EA unveils the songs that will be playing over (and over and over) as footie fanatics play season after season.
With the Premiership back on the pitch, all eyes are turning to the lurching mass of football updates. EA's FIFA 06 is looking to build on the approachable design the company has hammered out over the last decade or so, and to back up the bumped visuals and gameplay there is a brand new list of popular music for the game's soundtrack.
The soundtrack is part of EA's EA Trax initiative and includes artists from around the world, playing on the worldwide popularity of the sport.
"There is no sport more global than football," said EA's Steven Shnur. "The FIFA 06 soundtrack encapsulates the passion and pride of each country, their clubs and the music that defines it all."
But apart from the cosmopolitan soundtrack, football fans are coming into this looking for a good game. This year's edition features all the usual upgrades and also an expanded management mode that allows you to make more of the high level decisions.
FIFA 06 will be out for all current platforms in October with a next-generation version to follow on Xbox 360. The full track listing is as follows:
