Halo Movie Coming in 2007
Let's hope that this one turns out better than most of the other game movies out there.
While fans of Master Chief are clamouring for the inevitable Halo 3 Xbox 360 follow-up, Microsoft is trying to make sure that the robot-like mayhem merchant gets even more exposure. The company has closed a deal that will see Master Chief take to the silver screen in 2007, Variety is reporting.
The majority of games-turned-movies have not been well received by either gamers or moviegoers, so Microsoft has put a lot of work into getting the right deal for Halo.
The movie, which doesn't yet have actors or a director attached, will be penned by The Beach and 28 Days Later scriptwriter Alex Garland, who was reportedly paid $1 million to do the preliminary work-up. Bungie, the game's developer, will also have a hand in the movie's production.
