Konami Demystifies Metal Gear Acid
Euro-exclusive explanatory booklet coming to make the card-based gameplay more approachable.
The PSP, in case you missed it, is launching later this week and companies are getting the word out on why their games are the ones to get during the bustling launch week. Konami is pinning its hopes on Metal Gear Acid, a new game based in the popular Metal Gear world.
But don't be fooled into thinking this is just another Metal Gear Solid game reworked for the portable.
Metal Gear Acid is a strategy game where every action you make, whether sneaking up on an unsuspecting guard or sniping a baddie from among the trees, is made using cards in a similar way to real-life trading card games such as Magic: The Gathering.
Since the concept of playing using cards is probably foreign to many Metal Gear devotees, Konami is including an exclusive 20-page book with the European version of the game that lays out what each of the cards lets you do.
Metal Gear Acid launched alongside the PSP in Japan and North America and has gone on to great success, so much so that a sequel is already in the works.
To see what the fuss is about, check out Metal Gear Acid when it's released on Thursday, 1 September or visit Konami's official site.
