Double Your WipEout Fun for Free
It's only just hit Europe but Sony is already planning to double up on the high-speed entertainment.
WipEout Pure may have only hit stores this week, but Sony is already eyeing its future expansions. Over the next six weeks the game thousands bought at the PSP's launch will become unrecognisable as it doubles in size thanks to scores of downloads Sony has in the offing.
The first set of updates, called the Gamma Pack, is already available and contains both new tracks and new skins for your speedy anti-gravity racers. This will be followed on 16 September by the Delta Pack, which brings new goodies designed by renowned design artists.
Things go retro in early October when the Classic Pack 1 (3 October) and Classic Pack 2 (16 October) arrive. These two expansions bolster the experience with tracks and more taken straight from the early series instalments.
But the real one to watch is the European-exclusive Omega Pack, which is set to come out sometime after the Classic Packs.
All these downloads will be available for free, though you will need to be able to go online with your PSP via a wireless network hotspot to get at the content. For more details on the offer, visit Sony's WipEout Pure site.
