Sony and MS Battle for Third-Party Support
It's early days yet but the mine-is-bigger-than-yours has already begun.
If Microsoft's line that it has about 200 games in development for Xbox 360 is steering you away from the PlayStation 3, fear not. Sony has fired back, revealing that there are more than 100 games already in the works for its system.
In amongst the crowd of some of the biggest series of the current generation, including Resident Evil, Final Fantasy and Sonic The Hedgehog, but there's no shortage of new (and as yet unnamed) games in development.
Microsoft has worked hard to catch up to Sony in the recruitment of third-party publishers, with Sony sitting pretty after inheriting loyalty for PlayStation 3 from PlayStation and PlayStation 2.
Microsoft is set to launch the Xbox 360 starting in November while Sony fans will need to wait until next spring, at the earliest, to taste the company's next-generation offerings.
