Revolution Gets Mixed Feedback
After last week's anticipated announcement, gamers cough up reactions.
The newly revealed controller for Nintendo's upcoming Revolution console has been taking up the bulk recent attention from eager game fans - and now decent feedback to the adventurous new controller is beginning to emerge.
What's the current mood? It will change the way that games are played, but some will need to exercise their imaginations to realise new game concepts on the unique new device, which features a sophisticated, Bluetooth-based motion and distance sensor.
Unsurprisingly, first-person shooters and racing games seem to inspire confidence. But fans of fighting games are more worried about the machine - even though it comes with a traditional slip-on joypad attachment. But, with Nintendo's popular character fighting game, Smash Brothers, being a key launch title for the machine, it's possible that Nintendo already has the problem nipped in the bud. Time, as ever, will tell.
