Game Boy Micro Goes Big
Can anything hold down the Game Boy Advance? No, it doesn't seem like it?
There were some who scoffed when Nintendo announced the Game Boy Micro at the Electronic Entertainment Expo earlier this year, but the naysayers have been silenced by the latest news out of Japan.
The handheld, a smaller model of the Game Boy Advance with a much-improved display, has sold more than 200,000 units in its first month in Japan, according to a report at GameSpot.
And there's more to come. Nintendo cashed in on the nostalgia of older gamers at launch by releasing a Game Boy Micro decked out like a Famicom (the Japanese NES) earlier this year. The company is following up on this special edition with a just-revealed version emblazoned with Pikachu, figurehead for the nigh-unstoppable Pokémon franchise.
The Game Boy Micro has since moved on to big things in the US and it is scheduled to hit Europe on 4 November for £69.
