Pac-Man Chews Into 2006
The still-spry 25-year-old suits up for another go round the block.
After 25 years on the job, Pac-Man still shows no signs of his rapidly advancing age. In fact, as hard as it may be to believe, the yellow hero has just signed up yet for another console and handheld title.
Pac-Man World 3 tasks the titular hero with the unenviable task of not only saving the world (natch) but also teaming up with, as Namco puts it, old friends to do so. All of which seems to suggest a teaming up, as it were, between Pac-Man and his longtime nemeses, the ghosts.
Don't worry if it all sounds too different for your nostalgia-addled brain. Namco is promising to tame the platforming gameplay with long-loved elements of the original game.
Pac-Man World 3 will be out for Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube, PSP and PC early in 2006.
