No Gran Turismo for PSP This Year
Sony's hotly anticipated racers won't be filling any Christmas stocking anytime soon.
The glut of racing games currently besieging the PSP hardly makes for the best environment to release another one, which is perhaps why Sony likely isn't too concerned that its flagship Gran Turismo series won't make it to the portable this year.
The company has not tried to explain the slippages Gran Turismo 4 Mobile has seen since it was first revealed around the announcement of the PSP, but then delays are hardly a new thing for the series.
Most recently, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi held back the release of Gran Turismo 4 for PlayStation 2 and the game lost its online modes in the process. At the time, Yamauchi said that the PSP version would come with online play, though there's no word whether that's still planned.
As it stands now, Gran Turismo 4 should be out in Japan sometime during 2006 with the European and American releases coming afterwards.
