Two More From Rare for 360
Development was going so smoothly on Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero that Rare thought it would add another couple logs onto the fire.
Microsoft has taken a lot of flack from armchair critics for its purchase of Rare, which until now has hardly delivered the sort of content the GoldenEye developer is renowned for. Rare has two games in the works for the early days of the Xbox 360 - Kameo: Elements of Power and Perfect Dark Zero - and company vice president Peter Moore has revealed that there are two more coming.
The Twycross-based developer has been toiling away on the two as-yet-unannounced games for two years already, Moore told MTV News. The games will formally be unveiled next spring, probably at May's Electronic Entertainment Expo.
But first up for Rare is putting the final touches on Perfect Dark Zero, a shooter that's been in development for several years already - and for more than one system. Moore conceded that it won't be the best looking of Microsoft's games because, "it was built in a visual style that doesn't show off next generation well."
There's been much talk lately about backwards compatibility, specifically, about which games will be supported.
Because Microsoft is taking a software emulation route, not all games will be compatible with the 360 right away. But Moore confirmed Halo 2 fans could expect a smooth transition to the next generation, as the Xbox top-seller will be fully playable on the 360.
