PSP Grand Theft Auto Misses Euro Release
Despite the game launching this week in the US, Grand Theft Auto's PSP debut has been delayed. Rockstar isn't saying why, but they did tell us when it will be here.
Stores across the country have been pushing the PSP based on this week's release of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. The game, which was developed to be just as all-encompassing as its console predecessors, comes at a time when Sony's portable is in desperate need of a breakout hit. There's just one problem: the game didn't arrive.
Despite coming out in North America earlier this week, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories missed its 28 October release date in Europe. That the game is already out suggests that there is nothing technically wrong with it, but the exact reason for the delay is the subject of speculation at the moment.
Rockstar isn't helping matters. A Rockstar representative told Kikizo that the company was not in a position to go into detail about the delay, either off or on the record. The source also said that it's not clear whether all the details would eventually out or not.
So, where does this leave Grand Theft Auto fans? The reasons for the delay may remain a mystery, but the game's release date won't. Rockstar has confirmed to Kikizo that Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories will be in stores on Friday, 4 November, which may just be early enough to keep them from importing the game from abroad.
