Double the Resident Evil for DS
Fans of the original PlayStation version might want to give this one a closer look.
The 10th anniversary of the Capcom's Resident Evil series is right around the corner and to celebrate the company is remaking the game for the DS named Resident Evil: Deadly Silence. But fans of the genre-defining survival horror classic can look forward to a lot more too, GameSpot is reporting.
The game brings not one but two versions of the original Resident Evil to the DS. The first, rebirth mode, features new traps and enemy placements and a wealth of new moves and features designed specifically for the DS.
The second is classic mode, which, as the name suggests, brings the original game to Nintendo's handheld in an untainted form, even including the voices and full-motion video intro sequences. This mode won't use the DS's touch-screen functions.
Resident Evil: Deadly Silence will be out in January in Japan. The game has not been confirmed for release in Europe yet, but it's only a matter of time until the official word comes.
