Crusade Expands the World of Warcraft
After months of bumps, Blizzard's cash cow spawns a true expansion. First details.
The already massive online realms of World of Warcraft is about to get bigger still. At this weekend's BlizzCon in the US, developer Blizzard showed off the long-awaited first expansion to it's massively multiplayer online RPG hit called World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade.
The 4.5 million subscribers already wandering the game world of Azeroth will soon be able to take off on new adventures, with new races to play, new items to earn and new lands to explore. The expansion is set against the backdrop of an ancient war called the Burning Crusade that looks set to spark up again and possibly take the world with it.
Longtime players will finally be able to break the level 60 barrier in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, which lifts the ceiling to 70. Other new gameplay features include creatures you can fly around the new, barren Outland region.
Players bored with the current in-game jobs will be able to try out a new skill called jewelcrafting, which allows you fit jewels to weapons to modify their properties.
