The Simpsons Pull Up to Next-Gen
TV's favourite yellow family is coming to the next generation courtesy of the folks who brought you The Sims and The Godfather.
If you ever doubted the worth of a good license, a check of the UK charts over the past two years should make you a believer.
There you'll see how The Simpsons: Hit & Run has outlasted countless games of arguably better quality month and month. EA has noticed this too, and the company has picked up the rights to bring TV's favourite family to the next generation.
EA is tightlipped on exactly what they'll be doing with the Simpsons license, save that the first game under the new deal will be coming for unnamed next-gen consoles. The company has also declined to give an estimate of when we can expect the first game.
The Simpsons are no strangers to video games and have turned up in several genres already, including driving and full-on arcadey action games.
There's no word yet on what sort of game EA is working on, but it has revealed that its Redwood Shores team, the people behind Tiger Woods PGA Tour, Godfather and The Sims will be bringing the yellow-skinned characters to high-resolution life.
