Da Vinci Code Unravels Onto Consoles
Dan Brown's best-selling book turns into a possibly best-selling game via the no-doubt best-selling movie out next year.
Even in book form only it's nearly impossible to avoid Dan Brown's messianic - and, some would say, heretical - thriller The Da Vinci Code, and come next year it's going to be even harder. Director Ron Howard is working on a big screen adaptation of the book starring Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou, and now 2K Games has stepped in to claim the video game rights.
Do you know Mona Lisa's secret?
Games based on movies don't always turn out well, but developer The Collective has eased fears that this is a hit-and-run affair by bringing on board Charles Cecil, designer of the beloved Broken Sword series.
That said, there's little in the way of solid details about the game right now. 2K Games says it will offer, "action-oriented suspense for seasoned gamers and The Da Vinci Code fans alike". Oh, and it's coming for all three current-gen consoles.
Look for the game based on the no-doubt box office topping movie based on the best-selling book to hit shelves around the same time as the flick, in May 2006.
