PSP Gets Platinum Line in Japan
Cheap re-releases coming to a palm near you in the near (hopefully) future.
If you go down to your local game store you'll notice something odd: a game available on both PSP and PlayStation 2 is usually more expansive for the handheld. But Sony is going to ease the burden on your wallet with a new Platinum-like series for the PSP.
At first, the PSP The Best series will be exclusive to Japan. The first wave of cheaper re-releases hits on 17 November and includes popular games such as Everybody's Golf, Ridge Racer and Metal Gear Acid.
Don't think of this as an easy way to get at budget titles though, as Sony making sure that only top selling games that sell more than 100,000 copies make it in the The Best series.
A true Platinum line for the PSP is inevitable in Europe, but Sony isn't saying when this will happen. The new line kicks off in Japan nearly a year after the handheld went on sale, so European gamers could still be in for a wait.
