Nintendo Brings Trauma Centre to Europe
Now you too can slice into people and get paid for doing it.
Not everyone wants to grow up to be a plumber or a princess-saving elf, which is why Nintendo is encouraging ever more varied types of games to the DS. The company has signed a deal with developer Atlus to bring its surgery-simulator Trauma Centre: Under the Knife to Europe.
In the game you play as a rookie doctor who discovers that he has been gifted a supernatural ability for surgery. During the course of his adventures, you'll remove all manner of real-life items out of the bodies of patients in increasingly wretched states.
Using the stylus, you swab, slice and suture to solve medical dilemmas. It's not all staid, by-the-books stuff, though, and you'll oftentimes have to beat the clock to save patients from otherworldly nasties.
The game also carries a human element, as the rookie doctor wrestles with his gift and his desire to save the lives of the people that meet his scalpel.
Trauma Centre: Under the Knife will be out only on DS in March 2006.
