Square Enix, Ubisoft Revive Drakengard for Europe
More dragontastic fun for those of you for whom one style of play is simple too constricting. New screens.
Despite their long history in videogames, dragons have typically been something you kill rather than something you covet. But in Square Enix's recent RPG Drakengard, the lofty reptilians were thrust into focus. Now the company is working with Ubisoft to bring the game's already-successful sequel to Europe.
Drakengard 2 casts you once again as a knight on the crowded battlefields of a kingdom in chaos. The game brings with it a wealth of gameplay styles, allowing you to unleash hell on the ground or rain down unmerciful vengeance from the your flying dragon.
Don't' expect too much in the way of changes, though. Instead of starting all over again, Japanese developer Cavia has picked up where the previous game left off, continuing the story begun in Drakengard.
After making a solid start in Japan earlier this year, Drakengard will hit the PlayStation 2 in Europe in March 2006.
