Next Lara Croft Movie on the Way?
Reports say that Paramount, SCI and Angelina Jolie are jumping back into bed for a third movie.
Fans of the Tomb Raider series and its spin-off movies starring heroine Lara Croft might not have to wait much longer for a new big-screen sequel.
Negotiations are taking place between movie company Paramount, and videogame publisher SCI, which now encompasses famous Tomb Raider owners Eidos Interactive. According to The Business Online, Angelina Jolie is bang up for it - apparently expressing an interest in returning as Lara for the third movie
The first two Tomb Raider movies raked in nearly half a billion dollars at the box office, so it's no surprise that all the players involved are gathering together again for a third flick.
However, it might be tougher for the film distributor this time round; top boss at SCI, Jane Cavanagh, is described as one of Britain's leading female executives, and with the new videogame, Tomb Raider Legend, scheduled for release and raising Lara's profile again early next year, it's thought that Jane will be trying to get more bang for Lara's buck.
A heroine in her own right? Let's just hope Cavanagh is the saviour of the Tomb Raider label that everyone hopes.
