Buyer of Broken 360 Goes After Microsoft
One US man takes his lemon Xbox 360 as a personal insult from Microsoft, gets litigious.
There have been reports since the Xbox 360's US debut late last month that there were design flaws with the new console, but Microsoft has dismissed those claims saying that people are only seeing the usual problems that pop up when a new system launches. One American man is however not convinced.
Chicago-native Robert Byers has filed a lawsuit against Microsoft, claiming that there is a problem with the design of the console that causes it to lock up during play or while using Xbox Live.
Byers claims that Microsoft rushed the console out to meet its overly-ambitious (by its own admission) launch plans and that this resulted in a systemic problem with all Xbox 360s. He is asking for a complete recall or replacement of all Xbox 360s.
Microsoft has not commented specifically on this lawsuit, but a company representative admitted that while there are problems with some Xbox 360s, the infrequent reports were isolated and not a systemic one affecting all the consoles released.
