Armored Core Sees Its Last Raven
The mech series that was there for the birth of the PlayStation 2 will be there again for its death. New screens.
Japanese developer From Software's Armored Core 2 was one of the early games on the PlayStation 2, so it seems fitting that another instalment in the series should be there at the console's end. The company has revealed that mech fans will soon be able to ring out the old generation with Armored Core: Last Raven.
The game picks up the story from Armored Core: Nexus. You play a Raven pilot, fighting on the front lines among the warring Alliance and Nexus factions. You'll be able to pick a side or sit on the sidelines, though the latter option will earn you the wrath of the other Ravens.
Gameplay should be largely the same as what series fans are already familiar with, which means plenty of customisation and oodles of weapons. There is new stuff to keep veterans interested, including the ability to keep fighting after you've lost a limb.
Armored Core: Last Raven for PlayStation 2 will be out in the US sometime next spring. A European release hasn't been confirmed yet, but it's likely the announcement isn't far off.
