Konami's Battle for Street Supremacy
First screens and details on the new Genki PSP racer.
The portable power of the PSP has been put to use for a lot of game types but a glance at the system's current library suggests driving games are among the most popular. Little surprise then that Konami has another racer in the works for the system, this one from Genki, the team behind the Tokyo Xtreme Racer games.
Street Supremacy is described by its makers as a team-based racer. You'll be able to battle in five-person teams in either singleplayer or multiplayer. The concept may suggest that you'll be battling with nine other people online, but it seems that this was too taxing, as two-player support is all you get.
The meat of the game, though, is Team Battle, where two teams race for the 15 territories that popular the game map. Win races and you'll control more of the world.
Fuelling this expansionary charge is a garage filled with prototypical rice-rockets. You'll get to drive authentic Nissans, Subarus and Mitsubishis and you'll even be able to modify them.
Street Supremacy will be out in February 2006 only for PSP.
