Public's Most Wanted
Games get chance in chart after Xmas.
Christmas may have come and gone but the British public's desire for Speed remains. EA's popular Need For Speed Most Wanted is back in the No. 1 spot in the UK charts, after a blip last week where movie tie-in King Kong wrestled into the premiere position for a brief stay.
The passing of the giving season has, however, given some of the other recent releases a chance to breathe.
Activision in particular will be grateful that Gun is at last getting some of the attention reviewers agree it deserves. After a disastrous start, the Western shooter is hanging onto a Top 10 spot, right next to another unfortunately desperate case, Ubisoft's Prince Of Persia: Two Thrones.
As expected for this time of the year, new games are nowhere to be found, but the slippages of Christmas games into the new year means that we'll be seeing new colours on the shelves soon. Nintendo, which has been quiet of late, will be back with support for all three of its systems.
Below are the top 10 games in the UK for the week ending 31 December, as determined by Chart Track:
- Need For Speed: Most Wanted (EA)
- King Kong (Ubisoft)
- FIFA 06 (EA)
- Prince Of Persia: Two Thrones (Ubisoft)
- Pro Evolution Soccer 5 (Konami)
- Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (Rockstar)
- Shadow The Hedgehog (Sega)
- The Sims 2 (EA)
- Gun (Activision)
