New Far Cry Games for Xbox and 360
Ubisoft's Hawaiian shirt-wearing hero seems to have spawned a franchise. New screens for both games inside.
Far Cry Instincts for Xbox may not have done quite as well as Ubisoft had hoped, but that hasn't dampened the publisher's enthusiasm for the series. Ubisoft revealed this week that its vaunted Montreal studio, home to Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell, would be cranking out two new games in the popular series for release this year.
The first game, currently simply called Far Cry Instincts Next Chapter, takes the previous Xbox game as its foundation and layers a new scenario, new characters and new gameplay elements on it.
Ubisoft will also be bringing its popular shooter series to Xbox 360 in the form of Far Cry Predator. Don't get too excited yet, though. This isn't a whole new game. Instead, Ubisoft is bundling versions of Far Cry Instincts and Far Cry Instincts Next Chapter, both of which have been gussied up for the high-definition console.
Ubisoft's John Parkes says the company, "is confident that Far Cry Instincts Predator for Xbox 360 and Far Cry Instincts Next Chapter for Xbox will be among the best games this year". You can see for yourself when both hit stores this spring.
