Lord of the Rings RTS Commands Xbox 360
It's Lord of the Rings, in a real-time strategy game, on the Xbox 360. Surely EA is on to another winner. New screens.
When you think of Lord of the Rings the word epic comes to mind - mostly in relation to its monstrously sized battles. Which is precisely why the movies are such a good basis for a real-time strategy series, such as EA's Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth.
In the sequel, due later this year, you're once again thrust into the role of a commander, steering the vast skirmishes taken from both Peter Jackson's award-winning movies and J.R.R. Tolkien's original books. Hugo Weaving reprises his role as the Elrond to guide you through the game.
Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth II also marks the series debut on the Xbox 360, with new modes and controls designed to ease novices into the real-time strategy gameplay while still giving experts a challenge.
And once the computer has proven weak in the face of your strategic fortitude, you'll be able to go on Xbox Live to challenge players from around the world. EA has devised several new online modes for Xbox Live, including King of the Hill, Capture and Hold and Hero-vs-Hero.
Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth II is out on 3 March for PC and will hit Xbox 360 sometime this summer.
