Sonic Rides Onto Consoles and the Net
Another Riders update as Sega launches official sites and a fresh helping of media.
Sonic The Hedgehog is naturally gifted when it comes to raw speed, so you'd hardly think he'd need any sort of assistance. And yet, Sega has coaxed its mascot into making an appearance in new console racing title Sonic Riders.
Sonic Riders is, as Sega puts it, a blend of snowboarding, surfing and high-speed racing combat, and with adjectives such as "ultimate", "outrageous", "insane" and "innovative" peppering the game's new site, you can bet that the company has a handle on the extreme part of the extreme racing equation.
When you're not playing through the combat-and-trick-heavy singleplayer mode (involving a quest for the Chaos Crystal, natch), you'll be able to use Sonic and friends to prove your mettle in four-way multiplayer modes.
Sonic Riders will be out for PS2, GameCube and Xbox on February 21 in the US, and a release will follow in Europe in March. For more, check out Sega's official US and UK Riders websites here and here respectively.
