Resident Evil 5 for 360 in Limbo
Capcom's biggest hitter of all looks to be stuck on the start line.
Microsoft has had a hard time of it in Japan, but this time around it does have more support from game makers. One of the biggest is Capcom, and its next big thing is Resident Evil 5. Unfortunately, it looks like 360 owners won't be seeing the zombie-thriller any time soon.
Series producer Keiji Inafune recently told Japanese magazine Famitsu his team has yet to start on the actual game, GameSpot is reporting. Inafune said his staff is playing with the graphics capabilities of the 360 and figuring out what to do to ensure the game brings something new to the series.
Last summer, Capcom delighted Resident Evil fans with a stunning teaser video for 360. It has since been revealed that the game will come to PlayStation 3 too.
Inafune did not comment on whether the delay has anything to do with the later launch of the PlayStation 3, which will only be released in Japan this spring or summer, roughly half a year after the 360.
Microsoft's console is not doing at all well in Japan, where it sold just 100,000 units compared to 900,000 in the US and around 500,000 across Europe.
