Japan Gives Revolution a Fighting Chance
New poll suggests Sony may have more of a fight on its hands than any may be thinking.
Perhaps it's the current success of the still-sold-out DS, or maybe it's because the company has always been popular there, but the Japanese seem to think Nintendo is on the right path with the Revolution.
A new poll by Japanese magazine Famitsu shows the Revolution and PlayStation 3 running nearly even in support from not only the public but also game dealers and game developers.
According to the poll, 45.8 per cent of the non-industry people that responded are most looking forward to the Revolution, versus 46.3 per cent for the PlayStation 3. It's a similar situation for dealers (41.4 vs 56.9) and developers (43.9 vs 53.7) too.
The poll also serves as a wake-up call to Microsoft that it is still not doing enough to entice the Japanese. Less than 10 per cent of each group is looking forward to the Xbox 360 most.
