Lara's Back in Time for Easter
The Tomb Raider series is about to return thanks to new minders, but will anybody care?
The Tomb Raider series has after cracking the mainstream seen hard times of late, so much so that publisher Eidos kicked out the old developers at Core Design and brought in the similarly initialled Crystal Dynamics. The fruit of the team's labour is now ready for consumption.
Eidos calls Tomb Raider: Legend a return to the series roots, which means a fine balance of action and puzzle solving. This is also the first game in the series to feature full high-definition support in the form of the Xbox 360 version.
According to Lara's creator, Toby Gard, the Xbox 360 has finally allowed him to create the game that was in his head:
"My original vision for Lara can nearly be realized with the muscle of the Xbox 360," said, Gard. "The stunning graphics and scope of how Lara can move and interact with her surroundings will be astounding."
Look for Lara to tackle the Xbox, PlayStation 2 and PC on 11 April, with the Xbox 360 and PSP versions to follow.
