Ubisoft Finds Lostmagic for DS
Touch-screen fun as Taito's real-time strategy-cum-action RPG finds a home in Europe. First screens.
As the DS matures more and more companies are using the handheld's twin-screens for something other than displaying maps and character status. Taito's new action RPG Lostmagic, coming to Europe via Ubisoft, adds a touch of magic - literally.
Playing as the wizard Isaac, you must embark on - what else - an epic journey to save the world from encroaching evil by collecting mystical fragments, this time in the form of seven magic wands.
Though the plot may elicit yawns, gameplay should provide some respite. All magic in Lostmagic is cast by drawing elements on the touch-screen. Using the various elements (which you learn about as you play) and by being able to combine up to three spells, you'll be able to unleash over 350 kinds of justice. There's even a real-time strategy-like tinge to a portion of gameplay.
Once you tire of solo questing, you'll be able to take to the Internet, playing against opponents from around the world. You'll even be able to test your magic skills in duels.
Lostmagic is coming only for DS and it'll be in stores sometime this spring.
