You'll also find yourself fighting on a nearby moon, where gravity is drastically altered, not only impacting your movements, but the trajectory of your weapons. Crawler grenades will fly way further for instance and faster weapons will curve with the shape of the moon, signifying influence from a force of gravity. In doors, some of these anti-gravity moments come in the form of specially built walkways that Tommy will instantly attach too, much like when Ratchet uses his magnet boots in Ratchet and Clank.
Other potential awesome features include a dynamic difficulty level that sits in the background and calculates your skill level, before deciding to tone down the difficulty or send in more enemies after you. You also have 'pickup cupboards' that judge what you have and provide you with the pickups you need! The 'overall' AI of the game also adapts to your style, meaning if you tend to hide around corners while using the spirit form to cheese beasts, they'll come looking for you when too many start dying of unknown causes right before their eyes.
On top of this, enemies can also grab your health pick-ups. Yes, you read that correctly. If you're a little battle worn, and a nearby room contains enemies and a health pack in sight, grab it before they do, because otherwise, you won't get a chance to later.
Of course, if they do kill you, there's still hope! Being as you are of Cherokee breed, you will enter a spirit realm, where you fight to claim your life back. By the time you defeat all the monsters within that realm, you re-enter your human body, where the animals have found boredom and left you. At least, that's what they do until they learn that you keep coming back...
The last feature to mention is the portal technology; it's what got everyone's attention at E3 and yes, it's VERY impressive in action. In short, you have a hole which can be shot through, walked through, opened and closed, which dynamically takes you into an area of the level that's nowhere near you. The hole is suspended in mid air and can be walked around as if a thin sheet of material in the middle of a room.
It's visually stunning and even moreso when you enter the 'mindfuck' level (not the official name, but one we found fitting), whereby the hallways start to de- and reconstruct before your very eyes, leaving you completely disorientated and very much at the whims of whatever the level chooses to place in front of you at the last second. The atmospheric potential of such a technology is mind-blowing and is something we cannot wait to explore fully when the final code shows up.
