Boktai Drops the Sun for DS Debut
Kojima's other series is about to jump a platform too, though this time it's dropped its core feature.
Hideo Kojima spends most of his time working on the Metal Gear Solid series, so many were intrigued to see what he could do on the Game Bay Advance. The solar-powered adventures of Django in Boktai were fun enough, but the unforgiving British climate meant that many people couldn't get the most out of it. Good thing then that the feature has been dropped for the DS sequel.
Instead of using our own life-giving sun, Boktai DS will instead feature a virtual one, propped up on the top screen and rising and setting in real time.
Play during the day and the shining virtual sun will charge your weapons, but try to squeeze in a last session before bed and you'll find a moon that leaves you in a lurch and more enemies hungry for your blood.
It's not clear yet how much of an involvement Kojima will have in this latest entry in his portable series. Konami hasn't talked launch specifics yet, but we would expect the game to arrive this summer.
