Tecmo Looks to Revolution
The Dead or Alive developer has something in the works for Nintendo's new system. Don't expect too much jiggling though.
Dead or Alive creator Tecmo has become one of the rare companies with confirmed games coming for the Revolution. And since the bouncing athleticism of its popular fighting series could be thought out of place on the family-friendly next-gen console, Tecmo has tapped its quirky golf series to lead the way.
Looking a lot like Sony's Hot Shoft Golf series, Sukatto Golf Pangya Revolution is the latest instalment in the Pangya series by Korean developer Ntreev Soft.
The series has appeared on PC in the past, where it relied on microtransactions (like those in the Xbox Live Marketplace) and network support, leading to speculation that it'll bring these same features to the Revolution.
There's no word on how the game will use the Revolution's motion-sensitive controller, though it's likely that it will be used for some sort of swing action.
While Nintendo has been eager to talk about the philosophy behind the Revolution, it's been more tight-lipped with specifics.
Company president Satoru Iwata, fresh from celebrating the looming DS Lite in Japan this week, is set to give more details about Nintendo's next-gen console at next month's Game Developers Conference.
