Valve Prepping Half-Life 2: Episode 2
The first has yet to hit and already the company is talking about the next of Half-Life 2's episodic updates.
How much emphasis is Valve going to be giving its episodic addendums to Half-Life 2? Quite a bit if recent reports are anything to go by. While the first update has yet to hit, the developer is apparently already working hard on the second episode.
The fittingly titled Half-Life 2: Episode 2 "has been in development for some time," Valve's Robin Walker told game site CVG. And while Walker was loath to get more specific, it would seem that the developer is aiming to hook fans into getting each episode through the steadily unfurling story.
Half-Life 2: Episode 1 is expected to arrive in late April. It picks up the story right where Half-Life 2 finished and goes some way to answering open questions from the end of that game. Valve has been clear that while all the tech that drew people in in the first place is still here, these updates are all about the extra pieces of story.
There are no release details for Half-Life 2: Episode 2 yet, but you can look for the first update to hit on 28 April.
