Lara Croft Gets New Face, Voice
Real live people sign up to pretend to be Ms Croft in her upcoming game and in public. And, yes, we have pictures.
Along with reinventing the mechanics of Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider game, Eidos is giving the sultry lass a new voice and face. The company revealed this week that as of Tomb Raider: Legend, Ms Croft will sound suspiciously like BBC's Spooks actress Keeley Hawes.
Karima AdebibeEidos says Hawes has just the right mix of posh and brashness to bring the gun-toting heroine to life in her name game, due later this year.
Meanwhile, Eidos has also found Lara a new face - a whole new body in fact. London's own Karima Adebibe, a 20-year-old sales assistant, has been tapped as the real-life doppelganger for the game star.
Keeley HawesAdebibe, described as having all the, ahem, "assets" to portray Lara, said that she was looking forward to following in the boot prints of Nell McAndrew, Angelina Jolie and other Laras past.
And lest you forget that there's still the game to consider. Tomb Raider: Legends is being developed by new handler Crystal Dynamics, with Lara creator Toby Gard back in the prime spot.
Tomb Raider: Legends will be out on 7 April for PC, Xbox and PlayStation 2 with Xbox 360 and PSP versions coming sometime later.
