Vin Diesel Hitting Screens Big and Small
The glabrous actor is launching another crossover IP in The Wheelman with some of the people behind XXX. Yay?
Action hero Vin Diesel's recent performances may have been overlooked by the Oscar judges, but it's hardly hurting him. The actor is set to star in both the videogame and movie iterations of his new property, The Wheelman.
Will it top Vin's performance in The Pacifier?
The plot is a familiar one. When a woman from his past runs into trouble, it's up to Diesel, as the eponymous Wheelman, to slip back into his shady ways to save the girl and, we suspect, shoot bad guys and set off explosions in the process.
The concept is being devised from the off as a multiplatform entity, melding the video game and movie experiences. This is nothing new to Diesel, who is fresh off appearances in Chronicles of Riddick and the better-received video game prequel Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay.
Diesel will team up with fellow XXX alumnus Rich Wilkes on both versions of The Wheelman.
As yet, there's no word on when we can expect either of them, nor which platform the game will debut on.
