Battlefield: Modern Combat - HD Screens
Fresh Xbox 360 screens show off the raucous battlefield action in glorious HD.
Developer Digital Illusions' Battlefield series for EA has been a favourite with PC shooter fans with a bent for scale and realism for a long time, which explains the interest in the upcoming Xbox 360 edition, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, due this March.
While it was the perils of World War II that jump-started the series, for the console versions (the game is already out on PlayStation 2 and Xbox) the developers have turned to the melting pot of military and political turmoil that is the present.
The focus of the game is the 24-player multiplayer over Xbox Live, which features new maps based in the Middle East, China and more, bringing the final map count to 16. You play in one of four factions (US, EU, China or the Middle East), each of which has access to an accurate arsenal of modern day weapons and 30+ vehicles for whisking you around the expansive maps.
Not to be forgotten, the game also includes a full singleplayer mode that allows you to taste both sides of the conflict in war-torn Kazakhstan.
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat is out now for PlayStation 2 and Xbox and it'll debut on Xbox 360 in March.
