Comics Legend Joins DC Comics MMO
And there's near-confirmation that you'll be living in two of DC's most famous cities too.
Sony Online Entertainment's massively multiplayer online role-playing game based in the DC Comics universe got a bolt of authenticity recently with the revelation that comics legend Jim Lee will be playing a big part of the game's development.
Lee, who made his name as an artist for Marvel and DC, is working as a creative director on the PC, PlayStation 3 and PSP game with the people at SOE (the developer of the EverQuest series), according to a report at games site IGN.
"This is something I'm intimately involved in and will be for the next several years," Lee reportedly said in a recent conference call. "Comics and games were a big part of my childhood and this really is a realization of my dreams."
Lee has been working on the game with SOE for six month already, helping artists and designers bring the game world in line with the DC universe.
"This will be the DC [universe] as we know it and it will feel current," Lee said. "But I can't confirm or deny that places like Gotham or Metropolis will be in the game."
DC representatives said it was a "fair assumption" that the homes of Superman and Batman would end up in the game.
