EA Takes You to the World Cup
Not really, of course, but rather in the inevitable World Cup 2006 tie-in. First screens.
Like clockwork, the imminent start of the next football World Cup tournament means that there's a new World Cup game coming from football licence dominators EA. The company has revealed that you'll soon be able to take to the field with your favourite international squads to recreate the momentous tournament before it even begins.
2006 FIFA World Cup, as the latest version will be known, gives you control of 127 international teams. From these, EA has plucked 100 international football superstars who have been scrutinized in order to capture their unique styles as closely as possible.
In addition to playing through the tournament itself, you'll also be able to tackle Global Challenge mode, where you play great moments from World Cups past. And if the thought of doing all this by yourself scares you, you can take solace in the up-to-8-player multiplayer modes.
The World Cup is scheduled to start in Germany this June, but you can get a head start on the tournament when 2006 FIFA World Cup arrives for all current platforms, including the Xbox 360, this April.
