EA Delays Battlefield for Xbox 360
But you'll be happy (or sad) to hear that it's not because the game needs more work. Explanations inside.
First-person shooter fans anxiously awaiting the arrival of Digital Illusions' Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for Xbox 360 are going to have to wait it out a bit longer. EA announced today that it has pushed the game's release back to April. While the game is already done and is going through its final tests now, EA has chosen to hold it back a while longer for marketing purposes.
"The new ship date is not related to product development, but rather to place Battlefield 2: Modern Combat in the best possible launch window," said EA's Steve Groll. "It will also give players more time to enjoy our action-packed multiplayer demo, which will be available in mid-March via Xbox Marketplace."
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat is the console debut of the frenetic FPS series. This latest instalment, already out on PlayStation 2 and Xbox, takes place in our current turbulent times, giving you access to realistic weapons and more than 30 vehicles. Apart from the popular multiplayer modes, there's also a singleplayer mode for you to hone your skills.
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for Xbox 360 will miss its 15 March launch date and will now ship for Xbox 360 on 11 April.
