World of Warcraft Swells to Record High
Blizzard's massive online game gets more massive still, and there's a new version coming too.
Blizzard's massively multiplayer online game World of Warcraft just can't help swelling, it seems. The company has revealed that its subscriber base has reached another milestone, now standing at more than 6 million worldwide.
About a million of that subscriber pool is in Europe. Look for that number to get a bump soon with the revelation that Blizzard is prepping a fully localised Spanish version of the game to keep the English, French and German iterations company. This Spanish version comes with full 24/7 customer support. Blizzard will also support the Spanish community via a dedicated site.
Currently it seems that the Spanish version will be tethered to Europe. Blizzard hasn't announced any plans to export this version to Latin America.
World of Warcraft has seen snowballing support since its launch in North America in late 2004. The game is now available in North America, across Europe and it's spreading through Asia too, with recent outbreaks in Taiwan and Macau.
