Dragon Quest Arrives for Easter
Now you'll have something to occupy the hand that isn't ramming Easter eggs into your face.
Easter is usually spent reflecting and eating eggs but this year you'll be able to busy yourself hunting evildoers and bringing justice back to the realm. Square Enix has revealed that it'll have Dragon Quest: Journey of the Cursed King ready in time for the holiday break.
Despite dominating Japan since its beginnings way back in the days of the NES, the Dragon Quest series has never made an official showing in Europe. But with the latest and most newcomer-friendly eight instalment Square Enix decided the time was right to bring the series over.
In addition to the typical Japanese RPG save-the-world type plot and a broad battle system, Dragon Quest: Journey of the Cursed King - the VIII part of the title was dropped as a way of making a fresh start - features a new interface from its Japanese iteration and also, for the first time, a full British voice cast.
Though the series may be unknown across Europe, the names behind it certainly aren't. Dragon Quest: Journey of the Cursed King was put together using character designs by Dragon Ball artist Akira Toriyama, and the game was developed by Level-5, the creators of the popular and acclaimed Sony RPG series Dark Cloud.
Dragon Quest: Journey of the Cursed King will be out in the UK for PlayStation 2 on 13 April.
