Ubisoft Flies Over G Fighters to 360
It's not quite as good as joining the Top Gun program, but you'll still be able to pilot some of the most vicious warplans known to man. HD screens inside.
Ever since Top Gun captivated the minds of a generation, video games have tried to bring us closer to modern air combat. The latest company to venture down this path is Taito, which in Over G Fighters is bringing the battle for the skies to the Xbox 360.
Over G Fighters is all about the intensity of the flight experience. The game allows you to climb into the exclusive cockpits of some of the best-known fighter jets in the world, including such craft as the F-22A Raptor, the MiG-29A and the F-15E Strike Eagle.
As you make your way through the mission-based gameplay you'll be allowed to pilot more and more aircraft. You'll even be able to tap into your flight recorder, so that you can see where you've gone wrong to make sure you do better next time around.
If, however, all you want to do is get right down to the dogfighting, you'll be able to do that too. The game features everything from one-on-one fights to 8-player "furballs". And if you don't feel like blowing your online compatriots out of the sky, there are also cooperative gameplay modes to take part in.
Over G Fighters will arrive in North America and Europe, courtesy of Ubisoft, this June.
