Gun Shoots Onto PSP
Missed Gun on consoles? Yeah, so did a lot of others. But now you have a chance to bring the Wild West on the road with you. First screens.
Last year's Gun by Tony Hawk's Pro Skater creators Neversoft was a welcome return to the oft neglected realm of Wild West video games. The game didn't get quite the enthusiastic reception publisher Activision would have liked, but it's getting another go at it with the release of Gun: Showdown for the PSP.
Like it's forebear, Gun: Showdown offers a bullet-riddled gallop through the days of cowboys good and bad - Native Americans turn up too. After lead character Colt White's ersatz father is gunned down, he gives his adopted son a medallion that starts a tale of vengeance and self-discovery.
The game took its from gritty, blood-drenched tone from cowboy novel Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy.
Incoming developer Rebellion Studios, working with Neversoft, is adding a trove of new stuff to the game. In addition to the heady story of the console version, PSP owners can also look forward to new side-missions, multiplayer modes and gameplay features to boost the experience.
Gun Showdown will be out for PSP this autumn. Check out our full review of the console version for more.
