More Maps, Fewer Cheats in CoD2 Patch
Now you'll be able to play on Infinity Ward's new levels without that annoying kid bugging you all the time.
Nobody likes a cheater and unfortunately loopholes in Activision's PC shooter Call of Duty 2 have let those miscreants have their way for far too long. No more. The company has released a new patch that closes those holes and adds other stuff too.
The patch, which is available now, uses the amusingly titled PunkBuster technology to keep the rule-benders at bay. It also includes two new multiplayer maps.
The first new map, Rhine, sees the Allies taking on a retreating German force in the decimated city of Wallendar in the spring of 1945. The Allies' objective is to take the city and drive back the enemy.
The second, Harbour, is actually a return to one of the popular maps from the original Call of Duty. The level is set in November 1941, during the Battle Of Rostov, where the Russian army had one of the first victories in the war against the Germans.
If the prepared stuff doesn't interest you, perhaps you'd like to roll your own. Developer Infinity Ward is working on tools for the mod community that will allow for new single- and multiplayer levels.
The Call of Duty 2 patch is available right now from the official Call of Duty 2 site.
